Taiwan Small Arms

Hi guys, I am new here so if this is in the wrong place then I am sorry.

I was wondering if anyone here know what Small arms the Taiwanese Army uses. I am assuming they get their stuff from the USA but is it all the same? Do they have any of their own designs? If there are any web links with photos then that would help a lot.

ROC(Taiwan) ground forces are equipped with the T-86 assault rifle. It is a locally produced M-16A1. I remember somewhere that these rifles are being upgraded due to their poor field performance. Besides this standard issue rifle, M4A1s have also been imported.

Thanks for the info. Any idea what sidearm they use?
I noticed in the picture the rifle looks small even compared to the Chinese soldeir. Is the rifle modified to be a bit smaller or is it just the soldier is surprisingly big? Being Chinese myself I can say that most Chinese are relatively small and the M16 is too big to be used comfortably.

Maybe it's the angle, but i thought the rifle actually looked big in the picture compared to the soldier.
Im a Chinese boy I held a M16A2 last weekend and it didn't feel big at all. Im 5'9" if u want to know, so I guess the rifle is about the size of M16 and the soldier in the picture was just a little small.
