Hello. The known fact is contract between USA to purchase for tanks called T-80UD. However the mentioned tanks are closer in standard to newer T-84 series. Tanks have new welded turret that offer greater protection, as well as Knife Explosive Reactive Armor. 3 tanks were equipped with modified by Ukrainians Drozd-1 or Drozd-2 active protection system, while 4th tank have A/C unit.

Are there any specialists from USA that seen these tanks in Aberdeen?
And if this is not classified, what happend to them? I assume that some of them were used for research mostly, like how APS work and the research on vehicle armor protection.
In eastern europe it is a matter of very agressive dispute if Knife and it's double/triple layer version Dublet are superior to Russian ERA.
Are then any conclusions from USA about protection of these vehicles? And any attempts to use Knife design as next ERA for US Armored Vehicles?
As far as I know, Ukrainians promotes Knife/Dublet as very efficent protection for not only tanks, but also IFV's.
So as I said, if informations are not classified, and someone knows a bit more about the fate of these tanks, can such person answer to questions?
