It was only six? Didn't they have security personnel in that base? Weird.

What is the total tally of deaths and captures?

It sounds like a total cluster flip of an op, given how long it took to formulate a response and deal with the situation. There are 50K plus troops stationed in the immediate area and most military forces maintain on site security to a high level in any event.

India needs to look at how it's responses are coordinated and planned if this is the best they can do.

As reported, the attack began on January 2nd, but it took until the 4th before the base was cleared. Not exactly a stellar performance by the Indians.

For all those who feel that the security establishment of India didn't give a befitting reply to the attack, I partially agree with you. I have no intention of insulting my country. But the truth is that the strength of our forces is subdued by the government . The forces don't have the freedom to act without the consent of the government. I truly appreciate the stance of countries like Israel, USA, and other western countries towards such attacks. Hope India learns from them and puts a proper counter terror mechanism in place.

Yes, Indian Air Force does have an elite special force (The Garud Commandos) specially trained for the protection of friendly air bases and the seizure of enemy bases. Also, there are DSC (Defense Security Corps) personnel who secure the outer periphery of the base.

The total death toll of this attack stands at 13,including 7 security personnel and 6 terrorists.

VOA is reporting that Pakistan is claiming that it has arrested some of the militants who allegedly masterminded the attack at the Pathankot Air Force Base in India. If this is the case then it hopefully means that this may be the start of better antiterrorism cooperation between the two nations.

Yes, totally agree with you. India needs to plant a centralized response system to deal with such attacks.

True that, an anti-terrorism cooperation between the two countries will be a big blow to terrorist organizations.
