So who has the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game Pre-ordered? I am thinking about ordering it, if you have, be sure to post here and maybe we can team up (when I order mine) in multi-player.

According to the company, anyone who preorders the game from Gamestop.com will have it when it hits store shelves on November 10. If those customers trade in the game by December 13, Gamestop will give them a $40 in-store credit.


Considering Modern Warfare 2 costs $60, that means that those who trade in the title will pay just $20 to play it. It's not a bad deal for frequent gamers who play through a game once and never play it again.

My mate just bought Call of Duty 2 from EB games(he ususlly buys games of STEAM).They are good to purchase off,as you get to take the game home ,and if you do not like the game, you can return it and get a refund.

Thats what my mate is doing he is returning CALL of DUTY 2 Modern war.He dosent like it and i agree with him,you have to walk to far to get to the action.Also if you want to play online there is only one server,thats right 1 server,with only 10 people max in the game................

I would not even consider getting this game,it reminds me of Battlefield 2,to many problems in the game and servers.

Set in ww2 pacific theater,the Japanese are a very worthy apponent.A Banzai charge gets the heart pumpin.

You don't like Modern Warfare 2 or you don't like the multiplayer system? Multiplayer on 360 is awesome. And once you unlock them there is massively more choice of weapon then there is in Modern Warfare 1.

You have to kill 150 people in multiplayer with the L86 before you can add accessories to it though. :(

They gave the L86 this really nice 80 or 100 round drum magazine, and because it feeds direct from the magazine it is much faster to reload then the other Light MG's.

StevoJH i dont like playing playstation,i play on a PC.Its alot more user friendly for me,as i have played video games for a very very long time:D

But yeh not into COD modern warefare.
I play alot of COD4 modern warefare,love planting claymores and bouncing betys
The game play is very different,comparing PC to playstation.

Not sure what you're on about there Road Runner. If your friend was miffed at the multiplayer on PC being crap, I can understand that.

It's worth pointing out that the PC version installs through Steam only (you might have been getting at this) - even when you buy the discs through a store - and thus I doubt you could return it.

The singleplayer campaign is great fun, although the plot is absolutely bonkers and makes almost no sense. It's great to see lots of modern military hardware in action, and several levels are based squarely on modern films (some scenes were very reminiscent of Generation Kill or The Bourne Ultimatum).

The multiplayer modes are a step down for PC - the number of players has been nerfed down from 32 to 18, and game hosting has been dragged back in time ten years. I imagine most PC players will be sticking to the multiplayer on COD:WAW and COD4:MW. Console versions don't need to worry about this however.

The new co-op 'Spec-Op' modes are great, and really add an excellent point of difference to the game.

It is EB Games policy to do this,they let you pay for the game,take it home for a week and if you dont like it you can return it,i have done it a number of times.

As for STEAM,you would not be able to get a refund,thats why i only purchase games of STEAM that i have already played.

well,online play is free on the ps3 which is one of the many reasons i chose that system over x box.......
i cant imagine many readers on here not enjoying the prospect of manning a c130 and pounding enemy defences with its 115mm gun!.....amongst of the the other fun items and perks to play with.....:flame:duel:)

Thats the prob with it,its the same as Call of Duty 4 Modern warefare,they just re invented it and boxed it up as COD2

You could user a The Spectra Gunship with night vision,and take out the enemy with 105 mm howetizers and 40 mm cannon in COD4 that came out 3 years ago.............

I just think COD2 is very similar to COD4,the only difference is the maps ect.......

i think that cod4 was actually the better game but im still very happy with the new game and am thoroughly enjoying it....the special ops is brilliant when playing with a teammate online or split screen...

It's worth noting that the Russian paratroopers and soldiers in this game seem to be using Western equipment. Some cheap camo too. Never seen that kind of camo pattern before for Russia anywhere during the invasion parts. I was a bit surprised that Activision didn't add AK-74s or AN-94s either.

Somehow all the Americans are accurately equipped though. : /

Otherwise, the game totally rocks. Multi-player especially. Love the new M4. It's sexy.

Tavarisch, The Russians AK-47's with EOTECH's and ACOG's plus for some reason they are also using FN L1A1's (not the FAL itself because its semi-auto in the game). It would have been nice if they'd given the Russian's the correct Weapons and preferrably *russian* optic. So yeah, we agree.

Its a hypothetical internation join task force. Also americans australians etc in it. Yeah, the L85A2 with their drum mag would be nice. :D

Actually, the L86 is probably the best of the LMGs in the game right now, because the drum (that they made up) allows magazines to be changes as quickly as a rifle magazine, with the capacity of a LMG. Only thing I don't get, how the hell are you supposed to put the thing to your shoulder and aim with a double drum magazine bushing up against you arm?

There has been a lot of people hacking the game recently, like being to hack your way to 10th level prestige. IMHO these people who hack need to get a life or get a girl friend and stop ruining people's XBL/PSN experience. Hopefully MS will ban these hackers permanently. After all I do pay $50 for XBL and its unfair to the gamers that do not cheat.

umair, FAL (L1A1 actually) is the best rifle in the game in my opinion even if only semi-auto. It just seems to do a bit more damage.

They patched up the javelin glitch but you use to be able to cook of a semtex and hold RB then press Y to switch to the Javelin and once to die you automatically fire of a javelin and kill everyone around.

Now their is another glitch were people have unlimited ammo (including noob tubes) and even the AC-130s fire on full auto. This glitch is a joke and just ruins the fun for people who just want to play fair.

yep,you start off with iron sights then progress onto red dots/holographic agog etc.you have the option to combine them with grenade launchers(noob tubes as they are known in the trade!) and other trick devices such as the motion tracker from aliens!....as well as the sentry gun(awesome and it makes exactly the same sound as the one in the film)

Are you talking about computer AI? If you are then I think the AI are about the same as in COD4.

It took me an hour but I did it. Key is the intelligent use of hellfires. Let the bots stay up front and clean house, ditch the usp.45 for a Famas with optics and the EBR for any smg. Dash to the next checkpoint. Die and repeat. Use the hellfires to take out the troop carriers and enemies on vantage positions along the route.
It worked for me, should work for you.

The real bitch on veteran is the one where Roach and Ghost die. The key there is the Fn2000 with thermal optics in the basement armoury. The ending of this mission always depresses me.:-(

Yeah that was quite depressing esp since it was such a pain to get to helis and also u dont get to c who Ghost is :) Who knows next edition in all probability Ghost will resurface like Capt Price did in MW2

I was killing the Cops and ones already down as well. Morality got the best of me even though it is just a game :D But I must say, the game is amazing regardless of my dislike of 1st person shooter games.

Yeah MW2 got banned in Russia and is censored in Japan.

However I think its the best level in the whole game. :ar15:devil

The US version can currently only be sold to adults in Germany, and may not be publicly advertised. There's a court application running to ban the US version completely in Germany. The German version is not banned or restricted.

The only difference between the US and German version is in the airport scene. In the German version, shooting civilians will make the game quit immediately.

I played COD2 at my mates place last night,online.

It was on PC,and i got 25 kills without dying,and guess what they gave me for that...............................

What you need to do is to take out the BMP/BTR, the helo and a jeep by hiting a fuel tank just before the helo takes off, then you stand up and snipe the first set of guards, get into the open yard, take out the fuel tanker behind the double static tanks and move to the left go to the entrance of the building on the left take out guards on the left of the building and rush towards the sub. Easier said than done though. Lay low snipe as many guards on your path and rush. Get a feel of the layout so that you can nade effectively. All the best just as Robert Bruce said, when you fail.........

What you need to do is to take out the BMP/BTR, the helo and a jeep by hiting a fuel tank just before the helo takes off, then you stand up and snipe the first set of guards, get into the open yard, take out the fuel tanker behind the double static tanks and move to the left go to the entrance of the building on the left take out guards on the left of the building and rush towards the sub. Easier said than done though. Lay low snipe as many guards on your path and rush. Get a feel of the layout so that you can nade effectively. I am not sure what stage exactly you have crossed, i am talking specificaly after you have teamed up with Ghost and the rest of the team and get to the compund from where you have to proceed towards the submarine. The first time Price asks you to use the Predator drone the drone is hit by a SAM site then you slide down a slope and team up with the guys and there is some resistance, you will just have to tough it out keeping your head down and sniping. (BTW using a AK with optics/red dot will be better than a Stegyer)

I am talking about the next stage once you get to small hillock overlooking the compound Cpt Price asks you to use the drone again; my earlier post was talking from that stage. Besides the game gets auto saved from that stage since its an objective succesfuly attained. As far as getting flanked move with the team and crouch whenevr you use a drone, try to limit the usage to max 2-3 times and only on targets which can get max casualities (i usualy hit only fuel tanks).

So once again. Hillock - Drone - Hit fuel tank destroying Helo, BTR and jeep - snipe guard unit, get into the open snipe from long distance - move towards a vehicle crouch take out Fuel Tanker vehicle behind double static tanks - move to left snipe the guys enroute watch out for the guards who are on top who come down via stairs. Use drone once more on the guards and vehicle on the left of building near the sub. Rush through that spot head towards the sub running crazy. Once you reach the sub the game gets auto saved and then you will have to head to the terrace of an adjoining building while price does his stuff
