I'm not terribly familiar with aircraft types.

I'm curious if the lighting configuration on this fedex plane is typical ?

hello gf0012, thanks for the reply.

No, I'm referring to the three lights on the forward fuselage. Two near the 'F' in FedEx and one in the lower cockpit area.

Not sure about the light under the cockpit, but the two near the wing would shine down the wing, and at the engine. When something goes wrong at night a member of the flightcrew can then inspect visually for damage.

Those could be working lights for the ground crews and the aircrew forgot to turn them off.
