I saw this article in ATOL and could not resist posting on it.
What a bizarre twist and expose of humbug! Of course this is no doubt just as selective as current commentary and no doubt earlier peoples in earlier times will have sacrificed themselves in order to inflict extreme damage and casualties upon an enemy.
Nonetheless, the story of the USS Intrepid and the sacrifice of its crew is a timely reminder that the moral high ground can so quickly transform into a boggy mire or quicksand:D
