Was just on youtube and saw this video promotional video of HMS Hermes from 1960 its excellent seeing the ship flying off Scimitars and Vixens, I love the sound off the Avon engines. Its amazing how cramped the Hermes was when she was loaded with planes. here is the link.

Great video - Hermes was very cramped with those Sea Vixen and Scimitars.
Interesting to note that the Scimitars were replaced by Buccaneers later on in Hermes's career - and Buccaneers were a similar size to Tomcats. A "pocket carrier" indeed...
