Yes it has. Read APA articles with caution, sometimes they are... a bit imaginative...

Yes, i have to admit that i still don't see why they would want to keep 40 year old airframes in service that are extremely expensive to maintain, when they can be replaced by modern aircraft, that are more capable and much more efficient in terms of maintenance costs.
As for the F-22, well, the F-35 is probably more advanced then the F-22 due to being designed using experience gained from the F-22 and the fact that it will have had an extra 15 years to mature as a design between the F-35 and F-22.
