I'm having a hard time figuring this out. Which version of the M4 assault rifle is the most common in the U.S. Military, The original M4 or the M4A1?

Any help I would be very thankful.;)

On a different note the U.S. will begin testing to see if better rifles are available and to see what might be needs in the future. They will also test the new 6.8mm which all current 5.56mm weapons can be easily configures with only the change of the barrel to use the more powerful 6.8mm.

Seems like M4 (3 rd burst) for regulars, M4a1 (full auto) for those that are special.

Delta Force now uses H&K 416s instead of M4s but I guess the rest of the SF use the M4A1. I think the regular Army should get the M4A1 as well but at least they still have the M249 SAW for full auto. :nutkick
