I wonder what members feel about the aw139 being used by the military. Ireland is the only country to have chosen it. Obviously Irish budget constraints were a major issue. It is capable of delivering small special forces teams within the country, the lack of such a capability was becoming an embarassment to the government, but many feel that it simply is not a military helicopter.

While the Irish government does not have any plans of deploying them overseas, it can be argued to that is not any less capable than the Lynx helicopters used by the British in Iraq.
