It's certainly different! Is the colour scheme a 100th 'Special' for PR or is there to be a general change? I'm buggered if I can see why you would want to paint an air superiority (sorry 'air dominance' Occum  ) fighter this colour.

It hasn't been painted yet.

It looks like a anti corrosive paint for the seams and access openings.

Well, it's a stealth fighter. The tolerances of assembly are important; as is the smoothness of the surface including sealing off any openings. I bet they're pretty meticulous with that work.

... actually, that could also be wrapping in the pic. That "strip" between radome and color is kinda suspicious.

You know, like they wrap cars on delivery from factory so the paintjob doesn't get scratched ;)

I wouldn't dismiss it, but I'll stick with that it is unpainted as the seams are consistent with openings in the aircraft, which are to be utilised further down the development spiral. F.i. the slots for the block 30 sidelooking AESA.

The radome will probably not be painted as it will affect its bandpass attributes, just as the canopy interface is probably in its prefab colour. The tape is just a coincidence...

Actually I think this pic might have been taken after the wrapping has been removed, so that the company test pilot can fly the fighter, and before the coating is applied.
