Is the Smerch from Russia the deadliest MBRL ?

India which developed the Pinaka has ordered for the Smerch as well, why ?

Yes Smerch is deadliest in the world... and has 90km range with guidance.

Look One truck carriers 12 missiles in one batalion you have 8 truck witch means

96 missiles. Each missile warhead waights 243 kg whitch means only one

batalion in one salvo fires 23328 kg TNT and with its reload time of 20min (+ few

more for Salvo time/Tme to prepare for action/Time for urgent leaving of the

firing position after launch witch takes about 5min). That basicly means one

batalion of Smerch units in one hour (three reload) can fire massivly 70 000

kg TNT on oponent at 90km distance accuratly.


Besides vehicle carrieng missiles is fast and can go throw rought terain.

Smerch is not a guided system at the moment , the rocket as your link stated clearly:

The distinguishing feature of the SMERCH MRLS is the system of the
flight trajectory autonomous correction.

This technology will be at least twice better than unguided system, IIRC CEP around 0.5% of range.

The true guided system will be GPS guided GMLRS, ATACMS of the US MLRS, Israeli EXTRA etc where their CEP is abt 5~10m regardless of range.

What about the Indian Pinaka, can you compare it with Smerch in terms of capabilities ?
