In term of weapons, OICW & OCSW failed and the replacement XM8 program was cancel..so for now back to basic M16A4 or M4 carbine...There are still some light on the land warrior program: General Dynamics C4 Systems has been awarded a $70 million contract to deliver a new, lighter-weight version of the Land Warrior integrated fighting system, equipping the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division Stryker Brigade Combat Team (5/2 SBCT) prior to its deployment to Iraq in 2009.
The France program is callled FELIN.....both FIST & FELIN are still on going program.....

The Germans have the "Infanterist der Zunkunft"- IDZ (Infantryman of the future), partly in use in Afghanistan.

Troopers said they didnīt use a lot of the features in combat. Have other Programes to learn from it?

IdZ is considered way too fucking pricy, and a vastly reduced version ("Soldat im Einsatz" / "Soldier on deployment") has been created, lacking pretty much all the nifty computer hardware. There are only 12,000 IdZ sets.
