The American M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tank was born from the blueprints of the Cold war, the Americans developed this tank to match the ominous regiment of Russian T-72 MBT. The M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tank has a composite armor which has trace amounts of uranium which is said to have excellent hardening properties for metals which would make it impervious against modern anti-armor platforms. Included in its ammunition family are the KE armor-piercing rounds and the HEAT multipurpose rounds which are propelled by a ammonia-based propellant charge. What makes the KE armor-piercing round effective is that it made from depleted uranium which is highly reactive with metals and can melt and penetrate all but the most modern armor of tanks. ;)
