WebMaster

Once you start uploading pictures in various categories, your section will automatically get populated in the "members Galleries" section at the bottom of the category list on main page of the gallery.

-Give proper credit to the pictures in its description.
-no url or links on the pictures
-MUST have a proper title

a picture of F-16 may have a title like "F-16" but even better title is F-16 - US Air Force (USAF) or whatever air force it is and same for other types of equipment. More information is important in the title

-Give proper description, it is okay if you don't know.

Now that DT is running faster, would it be possible to cut the Search limit from 45 to fewer seconds. It isn't necessary now is it? I was thinking 20-25.

Well, sure. 30 seconds sounds like a good round and healthy number. :D

Excellent! I am apparently not the only one that is happy with the

"You have xx unread posts"

function.

Appreciated.

Hi Webmaster,

I cannot seem to access Members' List. Cld you advise, pl? Thanks

WebMaster
June 23rd, 2006, 02:09 PM
Due to spam concerns and misuse of the member list in the past, we have it disabled for new members. You have to be here long enough in order to get access to the member list.

Same goes with Personal Messenger, you cannot use it until you have 50 or more posts. All restrictions are in place to control spam and not to trouble the members who wish to be part of the site.

May I ask why you need access to the member list?:nono

web can you introduce a system which will help the user to go through the threads to which he has posted by just clicking a a link by this way we may not have to search the whole forum and it will ceartainly help those who where not able to post in that thread for a long time.

You already have this under user cp in your subscribed threads.

How does the image approval work? Is it done by an admin or a computer?

How does the image approval work? Is it done by an admin or a computer?

It is done by Admin. I know you've uploaded some pictures, thank you. Your pictures will be approved soon and if there is a delay, it means the missing categories will be created and pictures will be moved there.

There are certain folks who do not need approval from the admin and they can directly upload... they also moderator their country's gallery and make necessary changes if there is a need.

If you have any other questions/concerns, please let me know.

Enjoy!

I realised I couldn't attach a picture to a post. Are there any restrictions on how to do that?

WebMaster

There shouldn't be any restrictions... let me make sure.

WebMaster
July 16th, 2006, 10:49 PM
No Restrictions. What type of file were you trying to attach and what size?

What you can upload and what size limit, everything is listed in the attachment box.

I've just come across this strange problem: the word "defence" (d.e.f.e.n.c.e) seems to be censored all over the DT site. In the thread names, in posts, everywhere. What's up with that?! Here's a screenshot of this... "phenomenon". :) Sorry for posting this here, but I can't send a pm to WebMaster.

Hey!

Where did the 'edit post' feature go?

WebMaster
October 23rd, 2006, 04:11 PM
I've put a time limit on that... is it annoying? After 30 minutes of your post, you cannot edit the post. It has its good side but also some unfortunate bad.

Any new change, etc. always goes through testing phase before it is fully implmented unless negative feedback is received from the community. :)

Thanks and enjoy!

Grand Danois
October 23rd, 2006, 04:20 PM
Well, ok.

I found out when I revisited a thread I had posted on. When I reread my own post I realized I had pasted the same text twice. But there was no edit button.

http://www.defencetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=76566#post76566

But I guess I just have to be more thorough with the preview function.

Other questions:

Where did the flags go?

The "who's online" menu function?

And how do you add that little piece of text in the bottom of your post?

WebMaster
October 23rd, 2006, 05:32 PM
The flags will be back soon.

Who is online:
http://www.defencetalk.com/forums/online.php

Text in the bottom of the post? You mean signature?

This and other options in UserCP:
http://www.defencetalk.com/forums/usercp.php

Let me know if there is anything else. :)

Enjoy!

Grand Danois
October 23rd, 2006, 06:27 PM
yes I mean signature. And I know of the CP. But where in the user CP is it. Been looking high and low.

Mods just a request, whenever posts by any member are deleted I guess it would be appropriate if reasons for the same be given.

1.The poster would know as to what actually was wrong with his post. (off-topic,flaming or which violates forum guidelines).

WebMaster
November 8th, 2006, 03:36 AM
Fair enough. Usually, the reason is listed unless post is deleted physically from the database. If you feel user has posted (their opinion, etc.) something that violates forum rules, please let us know rather than replying to that user.

Rules are here:
http://www.defencetalk.com/forums/rules.php

Thanks and enjoy!
