Can anybody suggest any good reading, including that which is online, about tactics and strategy?

If you're willing to read somethings not just from the very present, then two books which I think could be of use are:

Achtung Panzer! by Heinz Guderian
On War by Carl von ClausewitzIf the former interests you, then i think works by his contemporaries like Liddell-Hart could also be of use.

i would also recommend the biography of edwin rommel and the history of chengis khan(ancient but some aspects are still relevant and in use today.).

General von Mellenthin was a staff officer in the German Army in WW2, he wrote a memoir entitled "Panzer General" if I got the name right. Lots of information especially on Kursk. He blames Hitler for most of their mistakes and has a huge respect for the russians he fought.

I founf Clausewitz a bit too abstract (I have no military background).
