When there is a thread on comparing capabilities of India and Pakistan militaries, then you can rave and rant all you want but please don't ruin every topic with India this india that crap. :mad

Warning goes out to:
Aegis: read the forum rules
http://defencetalk.com/forums/rules.php
I will not condone any behaviour where people become abusive because they disagree with the progress of a discussion. It is unacceptable, lacks maturity and I will not tolerate it.
If people can't debate with civility, then don't debate at all.
I have better things to do than to try and spend my time helping people understand issues and then be abused because someone doesn't like the answers, or insists on only accepting their view of the subject and becomes abusive.

Long time since we've done this.
Warning goes out to aaaditya, please pay attention to the SUBJECT of the discussion before commenting. Do not turn each and every topic into India topic or India vs Pakistan. There is more to the world of defence than just India, so lets think outside the box. Discuss india related issues in thread designated to Indian disucussions and lets leave some room for others to discuss topics related to their countries, regions and else where.

Everyone is encouraged to discuss defence on a global scale rather than their own particular country or region. Of course, discuss your own but don't side line other countries or regions even though you may or may not know anything about other regions that doesn't mean nothing as far as defence is happening there.

Defcon 6 - I understand your enthusiasm about futuristic weapon systems... but please know that this is not some star trek year 2323 forum. We discuss our/this era's global military and defence developments. Although, we respect your studies about those weapons and knowledge/opinion, I request to you that we would like to keep the content of the forum and site in general focused on international military and strategic defence affairs rather than getting into high tech concept weapons. I hope, this will encourage you to participate in other threads which deal with military current affairs.
Please enjoy. :)

RJMAZ1, please fix the way you debate.
Few things that will help you:
When making a claim/or in a debate,
Please be clear, last thing we want is somebody's argument misunderstood.
Sight your sources for claims
Avoid claims that you cannot provide credible source/proof for
If someone in the industry or "in the know" (those who've worked on the weapon system and those who have used it) tell you something, please take it. If you wish to disagree (and you have every right to), work on 1, 2 and 3 above.
Winning every argument is not going to win you any award here, just reputation and you don't build that by questioning those who build the weapon systems, worked on it and use it and are in the industry to know a little more than many of us do.
It would be nice to know your credentials, little intro. :)
If there is anything else we can do for you, let me know or let one of the mods know. If you have any concern or something bothering you, I would like to know about it.Thank you for understanding, please enjoy.

Ladies and Gentleman all current Australian "air combat" threads have been temporarily closed, as a decision of the mods and Webs.
The arguments are becoming futile "mine versus yours" debates with the same arguments constantly re-hashed. Until something new to talk about in this field comes along I'd imagine they'll be closed for some time.
At least it will allow everyone to "gather" their arguments and engage in some interesting debate when we do allow them again... :)

EAF-16, you are beginning to skate on thin ice my friend. The forum specifically prevents "capability versus capability" threads. The MiG-31 and MiG-35 thread being a perfect example. The reason for this is they quickly degenerate into nationalistic pride based arguments, rather than the calm disspationate and thoughtful arguments we strive for.
In addition due to rather heated and personal arguments in recent times in relation to F-22, F-35 and F/A-18E/F related matters, there is a ban on these types of threads at present too.
Please take the time to read through (and follow) the rules around here to ensure your continued participation in them:

NERO.
Start posting in accordance with the rules. Instead of asking questions for updates, try and do some research yourself. If you don't know how, start with google and go from there.
This site is designed to encourage discussions on military related topics, not answer the questions of those unwilling to do any research themselves.
Also make an effort to spell correctly. English might not be your first language, but I'm sure you can improve it if you make an effort.
Failing to heed the now multiple warnings you have had, will result in a banning.

Start listening to Moderator warnings, watch your spelling and try to punctuate your posts, so that they are somewhat legible.
You also need to watch what you are putting in your posts. In the opinion of the moderators you are borderline flaming, which is not tolerated here.
You have been warned before about this sort of thing.
Now you are being warned officially. Hopefully you can see the "writing on the wall"...

Paskal,
Start listening to Moderator warnings, watch your spelling and try to punctuate your posts, so that they are somewhat legible.
You also need to watch what you are putting in your posts. You have been viewed multiple times attempting to start "A vs B" type threads or attempting to turn existing threads into the same thing. You also post one-liners and otherwise useless posts that add nothing to the discussion at hand.
In order to have a hope of staying on this website you need to,
1. Read and understand the rules and abide by them. They are perfectly clear.
2. Make an argument and support it. If you can't yet post a link, verify your information by other means, ie: page ... of book title....
3. Check to see if an existing thread exists before starting a new one on the same topic. You'll find there almost always is. The moderators are tired of following you around the boards and fixing your posts.
You are therefore now being warned officially in relation to these matters. The next step is a banning. Hopefully you can see the "writing on the wall"...

Continually posting off-topic threads and posts and ignoring mods is the fastest way to be banned.

Mod edit:
After discussions between the Administrator and the Mod Teams any further discussions in relation to the Exportability of the F-22 and related subjects are requested to cease until such time as a MAJOR announcement is made by an appropriate authority confirming that the F-22 is available for export outside the United States.
An appropriate authority would include: the USAF, Lockheed Martin or an official US Government (Executive/Congressional) announcement.
The arguments back and forth about this have become entirely circular and are no longer providing the quality discussions we are seeking for this site, merely rehashing the same old ground.
Please continue to enjoy the site and discuss any defence related topics that appeal to you. Just give this one a rest. All similar discussions will be monitored closely from now on.

Warning issued to Firehorse. When posting, be certain to abide by the forum rules (http://defencetalk.com/forums/rules.php), particularly #2. When posting a link or list of links, a line explaining or describing what the link goes over is insufficient and is still considered a "one-liner" reply. In order for something to be other than a "one-liner," input from the poster as to what their take is on the news/opinion/data and its relevance to whatever the thread topic is, is required.
This has been an issue before which a ban has been issues. Failure to cease this posting behavior will result in another, longer term ban.
