French Air Force Mirage 2000 to take part in air show in Russia

03.08.2004

MOSCOW, August 3 (Itar-Tass) - Pilots flying the Mirage 2000-C combat fighter of the French Air Force will for the first time take part in the air show in the Russian city of Zhukovsky outside Moscow in August, the press service of the French Embassy to Russia told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

They will fly during the first international festival of aerobatics groups, due from August 13 to 15.

According to the press service, the participation of French pilots in that event “will be held within the context of close cooperation between the Russian and French military”.

They will demonstrate, in particular, manoeuvrability of the plane and its possibilities in an air fight. Last year, at the air show MAKS-2003 in Zhukovsky, the French group Patrouille de France participated in demonstration flights.

Mirage 2000-C is the latest modification of the fighter and interceptor of the French Air Force. The plane has been operational with the French Air Force since 1984. These planes are also in service in India, Greece and Egypt, the embassy official said.

where did you get this !! you never have air fights in air shows unless Russians have different ways of demonstrating there AC's. its too risky to have mock air combat in-front of spectators.
