Sri Lankan Jets in Pakistan
From this months AFM (July 2004 issue)

The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at Kamra is currently overhauling the Sri Lankan Air Force fleet of Chinese jets. The three Chengdu F-7BS, one Guizhou FT-7 and two Shenyang FT-5s are being worked on by the F6 rebuild Facility, which specialises in overhauling Chinese aircraft for the Pakistan Air Force. All the aircraft are expected to be shipped back to Sri Lanka by late June.

Thats cool. Looks like the rebuild factory is proving to be of good use in this way! Lets hope PAC gets more overhauling assignments from other third world airforces so that it can keep its F-6 rebuild factory operating (and at a profit) for a good amount of time. :smokingc:

well i dont think the f-6 rebuild factory needs foreign ac to continue its operations, as now it rebuilds n over hauls f-7s its just that the name has changed. but yes it is better for pac if foreign airforces send there ac to pac for rebuild/overhaul.

Yeah, I meant the same thing like, there's no harm in PAC earning some extra hardcash from foreign airforces who send their aircrafts to PAC for overhauling. :smokingc:

Exactly. Pakistan can really make it a regular source of income. Many thrid world countries will buy Chinese toys, and Pak will have a regular line of customers. :)
