InternationalISLAMABAD: A contingent of six multi-role F-16s of Pakistan Air Force has reached Turkey to participate in a Multi air forces exercise code named 'Anatolian Eagle'.

A PAF press release says, the Turkish Air Force accorded a warm welcome to PAF Fighting Falcons. Participation in a multi-national air exercise in Turkey shall be an interesting as well as challenging task for the PAF Falcons.

Besides Pakistan, leading air forces from United States, Germany, Holland, Italy and Turkey are orchestrating air battle scenarios in demanding operational environments.

A Milestone in Ties

A fortnight at Turkey would not only shape up training of PAF officers and men but would also serve as a milestone in strengthening ties between countries participating in the exercise.

The 'Anatolian Eagle'

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat shall visit the Turkey Air Base holding Exercise 'Anatolian Eagle' and witness the culminating high intensity air operations.

The PAF historically participated in multi-national Air Force Exercises in the past. This includes exercises with USA, UK, Iran and Turkey. These exercises have obviously been of tremendous learning value for all participants.

'Anatolian Eagle' will be a step in the same direction, the press release added.

someone mentioned its an EW exercise, so that would mean they would have NATO AWACS in the exercise. inviting PAF is a good show of support. Is it primarily a NATO exercise.

oh those german Tornados are looking really good!!!

If Pakistan's F-16s fly off to Turkey (which I think is a bit far from Pakistan); isnt there a possibility of them getting refueled on their way? Dont know how correct I am in this regard but it just popped up in my brain as to how would PAF's F-16s gotten to Turkey in one-time fuel? Anyone willing to elaborate a little? :smokingc:

The ferry range of F-16 is about 2100 miles, or 3380km without external fuel tanks. So flying to Turkey with a fuel tank under each wing shouldn't be a problem.

Six PAF F-16s concludes Exercise Anatolian Eagle

ISLMABAD: Six Pakistan Air Force F-16s left Turkey for their home base in Pakistan after completing their first multi-national air exercise for nearly 30 years. Their journey home will include seven and a half hours of flying. Exercise Anatolian Eagle was held at Konya Air Base, 230 kilometres south of Ankara, and saw 80 aircraft from Turkey, the USAF, Italy, Germany, Nato and Pakistan participate in one of the biggest exercises held outside the USA. It provided the PAF with a great chance to see how well they could operate with other air forces. According to Wg Cdr Jawad, the Detachment Commander, it was a great success. "Despite our 30 year absence from such exercises, we found that we were not out of place here. We knew our strengths and weaknesses before we arrived and we will go away happy with our performances". Two PAF pilots also had the opportunity to lead 40 aircraft mission packages in the second week of the exercise.
