Question Firefox

Hello. I wonder if someone here can put me out of my misery, by answering, with confidence, the following question.. I saw in Firefox movie, a Russian Mig flying a few or several meters, not sure, above the surface of the sea. And this caused an avenue of water, that is, two lines of jets of water, probably taller than four meters! I asked two persons about it, and I got two different answers, so now I am asking members of this forum: were those jets authentic, can a fast aircraft cause them, or we are talking about Hollywood imagination? Hm......... Thanks.

Don't know the answer (but I suspect they're not authentic).

You mean like this painting of an F-14?

im not sure about migs or f-14s but i found a video of a mirage doing low level flying over the sea and they dont seem to be causing much of a wave. there is a little wave at 1:35 but that looks to be caused by the fact that the pilot is pulling up and the back of the plane is pointed directly at the water.

although these are only single engine fighters you may be able to get more of a reaction from something bigger like an F-14. Or if they kicked in the afterburners but it would take a very skilled pilot to be flying that fast so close to the surface.

Well, I am not smarter, even though right now I think that I can forget about jets of water in the above context. Still, my psychiatrist claims, that the above scene from Firefox is quite realistic, but since he is the only one, I have doubts.

Aside from that, did someone here fly the fighter? So what is the sensation? Can you relax at all like that, or you always have to be like a spider, red alert all the time, because of those insane speeds, and complex controls? Is it addictive like, say, a shooter game, like Quake, which is real fast, so you better have fine reflexes, good hand-eye coordination, all that? I just remembered, that there is no way for me to fly a plane, any plane, because of my diagnosis. I was diagnosed with the worst form of schizophrenia, so bye bye planes. And bye fire department. And army. And bye job as a guard, etc. So since my options are drastically reduced, I am curious whether someone here could conjure up how is it to fly the above metal beast, that is, am I missing a lot, or not.
